Growing up in Boston, we cut our teeth on politics.

Before we learned the color-wheel in art class, we could hold adult conversations on the events of the day.

I have voted early for November 4, 2008, so nothing will change my ballot.

I'm a positive person and look for the best in everyone. This year I am disappointed with most of the candidates' surrogate infomercials. Oh, so negative. If the candidate is good, say so. Don't point to the "unseen" lint on the opponents' shoulder. That could be dandruff!

Again, Roe vs Wade is forefront because the candidates can't think of something else to get the so-called "good" Christians in a furor.

There have been and still are many laws on the books denying people rights because of race, gender and ethnicity and place of birth. Those laws need repealing.

The Native Peoples of this country had their properties taken from them and look how they live on reservations. All the laws for the Natives Peoples have yet to be honored.

As a devout Christian, the abortion issue is a red herring to try and get my attention away from the immediate problems. I don't care about the abortion issue.

IF all those marchers, Bible-thumpers would inculcate into their children Judeo-Christian values and encourage them to have sex after marriage, then Roe vs Wade would be just another law that means nothing just as the laws for the Native Peoples. There would be no need for abortions.

It is more important to clean up the television programs the youth watch. There are no redeeming values in the shows that are broadcast of underage boys and girls on holiday in Mexico or wherever taking liquor shots off some drunk's belly button. Liquor guzzling is not a sport for those with working brain cells. A smart young person would not let peer pressure get him/her into a fix that months later they are seen nationwide on some "vacation" television show.

The boys are no better getting drunk to the point of passing out and their friends letting them puke and then giving them more liquor.

In fifteen years or so, how do these mis-behavers tell their children not to do, x-y-or z, when their parent's bad behaviour is memorialized forever on tape, a DVD or whatever the newest video system will be? Even worse, the neighbors will still be talking about Mr. So-so or Mrs. So-so about seeing them acting up for cameras and their behaviour was far from our family values.

We see the females flipping their tops for the camera or liquor or beads. What happened to clothing designers that kept clothes modest and elegant? I don't care to see females' jeweled studded belly buttons or the males' rear " Y" because their underwear and pants are so low that they drag on the ground.

What happened to the adage, "Dress as if the person you meet will be the one to interview for your next job"?

Parents how do you let your children spend your or their money on these so called "latest" styles? Your children look like escapees from horror movies.

If the youth of today would stop trying to copy the ditzy blondes, with more money than brains, follow their home teaching if there still is any, then maybe the politicians would not be waving red herrings and talk about what is right about the USA and what is wrong and how it is to be corrected in their administration.
