Yes, striped as in skunks. This "mid-term" election stinks to the high heavens. The days of "yellow dog" politics are long gone. "Yellow journalism "is now electronic. Phew, it is skunk time. The odor is so bad, the "skunk" can't be captured because their forest home has been attacked and all the skunks, not just one, are running loose all over the country.
I'm an admitted news junkie as you have read before;. No apologies will be given.
Growing up in Boston, the worst I can remember was us neighborhood children chanting, " I like Ike", because it sounded good. We had no idea of Ike's party. No one scolded us for chanting for a Republican. We were just having fun.
I'm unfortunate to reside where I see and hear political commercials from two states.
Many of the names I've never heard except in their commercials. They make sure they do not claim their political party. Most don't even tell which district, area or zone they are seeking to govern or represent.
Thanks to scandals and perceived scandals some are more known.
I knew who I wanted to give my precious vote for in September and did vote in September.
No way will I be in the crowd on 2 November.
I must give one politician respect. He is seeking to be re-elected to his seat. All his commercials have centered on his accomplishments. He has been great to Veterans. He has been encouraging to the forgotten Vietnam Veterans and their families. I know from friends how he has assisted Seniors and wow does he love the tiny tots!.
He reads to them at their centers. Most of what he does never makes the news. His activities do not "stink".
Before you get bent out of shape, I cannot vote for him because I do not live in his service area.
At home, we'd say of him, he's a mensch!

Top-level comments on this article: (3 total)It sounds like a circus, Patricia. But who is the politician that you would vote for if you could?Jennifer, I believe the clowns, seals, chimps would be insulted to have this year's election season be compared to a circus. ;-) Congressman John Barrow is the mensch!
yeah Patricia, I don't care that much for any of the candidates running for office so I'm going to vote straight democratic, vote for the party.I'm glad you are voting. I'm still thrilled with my choice that got my precious vote in September. Now, for the devilish machines to count the votes without "prejudice" from the human tally assemblers..
I hate the dirty commercials, the dirty politics, backbiting, etc, etc, etc. I don't vote party, I vote the person whom I thinks is the best person for the job. Like you I watch a lot of news and read a lot because I want to be informed. Thank you for a very interesting article.,Thank you. Being an informed voter makes that one chance to vote for a particular person or 'question" more valuable.
I thank the Great Spirit I'm not a woman living in a cave in Afghanistan. For all our "silenced sisters" around the world, I'm here and will not be moved, bought, sold, silenced or intimidated!
