It's So Hot......

While working in the yard, I was noticing all the animals.

The squirrels were using their tails for parasols.

My Black Lab was hiding in his shadow to stay cool.

Mama cardinal was no place to be seen.  I could hear her chirping.

As usual Daddy cardinal was ignoring her.

Daddy cardinal was surveying the terrain with lofty paths in the air and

with his red feathers reminding me of a Frisbee.

We'll never know if he knew it was hot.

The yellow flies with bear trap clamps for teeth were not biting.

The notorious fire ants found the yard too hot for them to come out of

the ground and chew our feet ankles and legs.

It was so hot that the gnats were waiting for me to open my car door, so

they could get in and cool off.

Blue jays are known for being mean, but I saw two carrying a bag of

ice and I watched them empty the bag into the bird bath.

Now, that is hot.
