When I saw the word challenge, the first thing that popped in my head was my Friends.
I capitalized the "F" because my Friends are Fabulous.
To tell how long my "bestest" Friend and I've been pals, would make me lie about my age again. She is older, has a daughter and grands and tells the truth. My reason is I have none so I'll lie abut my age as much as I like. I always admit that she is older and that is the truth!
No way can I list all those, I call Friend because it would take about a week. Friends come into a person's life for a day; a week; a month; a year; and up to forever, until death parts us.
Death parted my "bestest" male, my husband who I married twice on purpose. The first time was in the eyes of The Great Spirit, but not the Commonwealth because I was too young and Mom pulled her matriarchal "rule book" on me with a resounding, "NO!" She never knew. She dropped dead at forty-one years of age, six weeks before her over the top wedding. My Friends stepped up to fulfill my Mom's wishes. Yes, it was over the top.
My pals from schools and I are still in communication thanks to the internet. The telephone lines stay warm.
From the vocations and avocations I've had I've garnered many Friends are heard from on a regular bases. Some I hear from daily and others by the weeks.
A super busy Friend of four decades lives in Australia I am in contact with more than any relative. The time difference means nothing to us. E-mails, I expect about every other day. We know each other's schedules. When Queensland State flooded earlier this year, I could not rest until she answered the telephone. Angels protected her large house yet she could see the water blocks away.
Yes, I spent money to hear us "cry for happy". Visiting her home is on my bucket list. Some years ago she had a blast for a week at my home in another state. Over the years my friends have become hers and hers have become mine. One of our friends has a radio show in Australia that I try never to miss over the internet. Those ladies on the show have one happy time. On occasion things get serious, but most of the time the show is uplifting.
Another good Friend lives in Tahiti…….."poor lady"…….ahhhhhhhh. She speaks three languages and keeps my brain oiled. My Spanish is better than my French. Whatever she sends in French may take hours, but, I'll get it translated. Tahiti is on the bucket list too. Between the Friends in Australia and Tahiti, the postal service clerks get to see some super stamps of animals, trees and gorgeous people. Hot dang!
There are Friends as close as minutes or few miles away. Anytime day or night, we are available for each other. Those I've known longer think nothing of taking a day to drive four or five hours to visit me for a couple of hours. Yes, I've hit the road to visit them but have spent at least one night. Over decades we've shared everything from baking pans and surprises to dinners, holidays, births, marriages and deaths.
I belong to a world-wide group about seven years old called the Prayer Warriors. Yes, for all the clowning I've done, I do have a serious, Spiritual side and with the other Prayer Warriors, we pray for those who ask us to pray. We've prayed for people with ailments, personal problems and all in harm's way because of war. We have been internet witnesses to Miracles. To that I say, Fabulous!
